Giving you the scoop every Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

What’s Happening:

Hillary Clinton made it known over the weekend that she is throwing her hat into the ‘08 race for President. The Senator made the big announcement on the heels, and in a similar fashion as  Senator Barack Obama.  Clinton jumped into the fray with the words “I’m in” along with  a video  posted on her website.  Clinton’s announcement puts her in a big Democratic crowd of candidates.

In a statement released Saturday, Obama said: “Senator Clinton is a good friend and a colleague whom I greatly respect. I welcome her and all the candidates, not as competitors, but as allies in the work of getting our country back on track.”

A win by Clinton would make her not only the first woman to serve as president but also the first spouse of a former president to do so. A win by Obama, would make him the first African-American to win America’s top post.   New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, also a Democrat, announced his bid on Sunday, one that could make him the first Latino president.  All we can say at the SdB eZine is: Power to the People, Viva La Raza and You Go Girl!

Speaking of trailblazers …For the first time in NFL history not one but TWO African-American coaches will lead their respective teams in a bid to be the NFL Champion.

The Chicago Bears, led by Lovie Smith started the day by crushing the New Orleans Saints 39-14. Later head coach, Tony Dungy and the Indianapolis Colts beat the New England Patriots 38-34 after being down 21-3 in the 1st quarter.  By winning, The AFC and NFC championships the Colts and Bears will play each other in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Tony Dungy, who had a fighting chance last season, was derailed by the tragic suicide death of his son, right when the team was on it’s way to a perfect season.  In a fitting tribute Coach Dungy and the Colts were able to come back from the heartbreak of last season and pound their way to a spot in the Superbowl, where many believe they should have been last year.

This will be the first time in history that a black coach has led a team in the NFL’s top contest! The Super Bowl will be broadcast live from Miami, Florida on Sunday February 4th.  All we can say at the SdB eZine is: This is a sign people, this our year, ya hear!!!

….In other news.  Yahoo UK is reporting that Michael Jackson’s brother Randy Jackson has been hospitalized in Switzerland after suffering a heart attack. Randy, nicknamed Little Randy, is the ninth out of ten children and is the youngest son in the Jackson family. No news has been reported on his condition and the picture accompanying the story is that of American Idol judge Randy Jackson no relation to the above Jackson clan…we’ll keep you posted as the story develops.

….Actress Tia Mowry told People Magazine that she got engaged to her boyfriend of six years, actor Cory Hardrict, on Christmas day.”He surprised me in front of my entire family,” says Mowry, 28, who starred with twin sister Tamera on the 1994-1999 WB series Sister, Sister and is now on the CW comedy The Game.

 Which brings us to…

On TV:  Monday was the night for TV for us at the SdB eZine and many like us but with the return of American Idol the calendar has shifted! But don’t worry all is not lost there’s still excitement to be found on the prelude to the seasons best two days.  Of course Heroes’ returns tonight on NBC, many of you are poised to pick-up where the series left off a little while ago, however if you are like us and the moment has passed, here are a few other suggestions: The NUMBER 1 pick for Monday’s is the CW series mentioned above, starring Tia Mowery. The Game is another Frasier hit. Yes Kelsey Grammer’s Grammnet productions is bank rolling yet another urban comedy–we are starting to wonder what is up with that and as soon as we stop laughing we’ll investigate.  In the meantime check it out and tell us what you think!  The Game on the CW at 9:30 p.m. right after the other Grammnet hit production Girlfriends.

On SdB: Obama and others have gotten the people talking. Yes politics and the 08 race is the buzz on the board.  The Golden Globes also has the members talking, okay more like critiquing but hey that’s what we like to do!  In less interesting news it seems that are newest complainer kicked rocks–On the front side of course, remember our motto: they never leave and they always read!–after a barrage of comments went back and forth in the poster protection room. The “Noahette” was last seen licking its wound and fishing for sympathy to an almost completely silent response.  It would seem that the apparent absence of its trusty sidekick is having effect on someone’s confidence. You can check it all out here: SdB Forum.

There are places all over the web touting interesting websites to visit. You can catch where to go on the web here in the eZine or go to SdB’s share your link for even more helpful and fun spots on the web.   In an effort not to be out done we’re also featuring WHERE NOT TO GO ON THE WEB!!

Today’s link: pimphats.com This site is the one stop shop spot for all your pimping needs…complete with grills, canes, suits and hats <insert rolleyes here>.  The sad part is that it is a mockery of us and our communities.  We are all for free enterprise and everybody getting their chance at the American dream here at SdB but this is exploitation by the white man at OUR expense. Don’t let them get rich off of US!

 That’s all yall!

What’s Happening!

The Annual Golden Globe Awards -  is what’s buzzing this morning and we know that you want to see the pics and get the gist of what went down last night…we got the scoop, but first we have to Obamareport bigger and better news…

The man of the hour, our own Charismatic Democratic Party star Barack Obama took his first official step in joining the 2008 race and possibly becoming the first Black president of the United States.  The US Senator posted video on his website outlining his thought process and plan to develop a Presidential Exploratory Committee.

Forming an exploratory committee is an initial — but not a required step — in running for president or any federal office. Such committees allow potential candidates to begin quietly raising funds and “testing the waters” on whether they should run for office.

CNN and other top news sources are reporting that if Obama runs, he will join an already crowded field of candidates who either have declared their intentions to seek the 2008 Democratic nomination or who are widely expected to run. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York is the perceived front-runner, but she has not officially declared her candidacy.

Former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, declared his candidacy late last year, as did Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, a liberal critic of the war in Iraq, and Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack. Sens. Joe Biden of Delaware and Chris Dodd of Connecticut also have said they will seek the nomination.

Other Democrats mentioned as possible candidates include the party’s 2004 presidential candidate, Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark; and of course the Rev. Alfred Sharpton.

Obama said his final decision will be made based on what he learns over the next several weeks as he travels the country “listening and learning about the challenges we face as a nation.”

Last night millions tuned in to watch Hollywood celebrate the precurser to the Oscar’s. Jennifer Hudson lead the evening with her win for Best Supporting Actress. The newcomer from American Idol fame wowed the crowd with understated beauty and class.  Ms. Hudson wasn’t the only Black celeb to represent at the 64th Jennifer Hudsonannual Golden Globe event held in Beverly Hills, California; Eddie Murphy also took home the top prize for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Dreamgirls.  Other winners included Forest Whitaker, Best Actor in a Drama for portraying Idi Amin in the film The Last King of Scotland,  Dreamgirls  the movie also took home Best Movie in the Musical or Comedy category.

We didn’t just take home kudos in front of the camera this year either…Awards were won for behind the scenes work as well…Grey’s Anatomy creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes was all smiles as the series took home the award for best Television Series,  along with Musician, Prince who won Original Song for ”Song of the Heart” from the animated film Happy Feet.  For more pictures from the evening check-out: YBF Blogspot

In other newsPaula Abdul, co-host of the hit show American Idol is in the news this morning and it’s not all good. Reports and video clips of the star giving several interviews while clearly under the influence of “something” have popped up all over the web.  Your own SdB e-zine editor-in-chief was witness to the odd behavior exhibited by Paula, live on the Bay Area’s own KTVU, Fox News show Mornings On Two and had this to say:  “She was definitely under the influence of something. I think its just absurd that her handlers are claiming fatigue and a cold as the source of her behavior. Anybody who watched the tape could see that there was more to it than that.”  So what say you drunk or drugged you be the judge:  Paula on KTVU.

On TV: In related news…it’s that time of the year again…American Idol is set to kick off its sixth season. The hit reality show returns with some new faces and some new twist,  including a big event midway through the season described by producers as something that “will blow America away.”  Tune in to watch the worst of the auditions in what has become a annual event to kick-off the season.  It’s a 2-day, 4-hour season premiere beginning tonight and concluding tomorrow. All the fun begins at 8/7c, only on FOX!

On SdB:  Even though there was a Get-it query asking ”when does the cattiness end” and some itching asses,  tension caused by the member with the bruised ego has dissipated and all is calm and peaceful on the board these days.  Although there’s no dirt there’s plenty of dish…the Black Living and Culture section is all a buzz about the Black Man’s Warning and other topics.  Check out all of the discussions going on at the SDB Forum.  If you’d like to answer this GET-IT query email admin@shootingdabreeze.com with your thoughts, remember you can remain anonymous by sending your thoughts via the Shootingdabreeze comment form.

Today’s Recommended spot on the web: With the political arena and other areas of Black culture on fire we have to recommend www.emrgingminds.org  A news and cultural magazine that’s also a online resource network featuring an online store, a Black business directory, a business resource center and a section dedicated to music, art, poetry and literature.

What’s Happening!

In our 2006 wrap-up we highlighted the fact that a variety or our heroes from all walks of life passed on last year…Many of you sent us mail saying how you liked the census but were wondering why we didn’t mention more of the births and/or celebs who are expecting…well we never want to disappoint you at your friendly neighborhood eZine so here are a few of the people expecting a new bundle of joy.

… Tina saucy soprano of the famed gospel pair Mary Mary is beaming all over exuding the glow of motherhood for the second time around. EurWeb.com is reporting that Gospel superstar and her husband, musician Teddy Campbell, announced today that they are expecting a new addition to the family in mid-July.  When asked if the group will go on hiatus, the mother-to-be said, “I’ll continue doing what I do until I can’t. Then I’ll sit back a few months and give my babies and hubby my undivided attention.” On January 13th, Tina will join sister Erica and gospel greats Kirk Franklin and Tye Tribbett as they host the 22nd Annual Stellar Gospel Awards in Nashville, TN where they will perform their chart-topping hit, “Yesterday.” Tina & Teddy Campbell have been married for six years are excited about the continuous blessings God keeps pouring on their family…. *The stork is due to pay a visit to actor Laurence Fishburne, 45, and his wife, actress Gina Torres, 38.  Married in 2002, the couple are expecting their first child together…

In a trend that seems to be plaguing young celeb couples, Vibe.com is reporting that actress Regina King, who’s been married for 9 years, is set to divorce from husband Ian Alexander.

The couple who married in 1997 and have one child 10-year-old Ian Alexander, Jr,  are divorcing over allegations of “physical abuse, drug use, and extramarital affairs.” No details were given as to who filed the papers, or which party was accused of the abuse, drug use and cheating. We’ll keep you posted as details develop.

In other news…The Associated Press is reporting Helicopter gunships attacked suspected al-Qaida fighters in Somalia Tuesday after U.S. forces staged air strikes in the first offensive in the African country since 18 American soldiers were killed there in 1993, witnesses said. CNN and other news sources are reporting 31 civilians, including two newlyweds, died in the assault by two helicopters near Afmadow, a town in an area of forested hills close to the Kenyan border 220 miles southwest of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. Full Story.

….New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and other city officials spoke out yesterday about the rising violence in a city struggling to rebuild. With Mardi Gras just over a month away, nine killings in the first eight days of the new year has tourism officials scrambling to convince visitors not to skip the city’s biggest party. The latest spasm of violence came despite the presence of about 300 National Guardsmen and 60 state troopers who were brought in last June to help patrol the streets because of a surge in killings.

On TV:  Last night we mentioned the premiere of the new reality series I Love New York featuring Tiffany Patterson.  We at the SdB eZine will catch the replay, since we missed some of the shenanigans because of a underrated new show that we just can’t seem to stay away from…and no it’s not Heroes!! Check out what the people are saying about Tiffany and Mama Patterson right here on the SdB ForumTonight check out the 33rd Annual People’s Choice Awards premiering at 9pm ET on CBS! The live show will be hosted by Queen Latifah.

On SdB: A former lurker slash new native continues to nurse a bruised ego, creating mad tension on the board, but no worries it seems everyone that matters remembered…just nobody from here…and right when you might have thought everyone had got the hang of things, navigation issues rears its ugly head. Yes we’re STILL hearing how hard it is to find things on the new SdB, despite the fact that technically the format isn’t new… it’s the same as it ever was….on EB, on SdB and every other message board we’ve ever been too. Although we would like to be more sympathetic to woes of a few we’re just not.  If you can navigate your way through cities, airports,  new companies and towns you can navigate up and down the board …. Don’t forget if you want the scoop or just to remain in the loop you got to join the group at www.shootingdabreeze.com. See you on the board!!

Today’s recommended site on the web:  The dawn of a new year always brings resolutions and other vows for improvement. The most popular besides losing weight is reducing clutter in our homes and lives. That’s why today we are helping you fulfill this by recommending the ever popular www.freecycle.org.  This grassroots movement is on fire and on its way to possibly eclipsing EBay…okay maybe not but it’s still cool!

SdB eZine – Monday, January 8, 2007

 What’s Happening?

Before the reunion show of last season’s Flavor of Love even aired rumors were floating around that the winning couple were no longer an item. Reports from everywhere, had flav and Ms. dee on the skids. Flav reportedly has a child on the way (by someone else), conceieved during his laison with the bootylicious reality star.  Delish not to be outdone created some heat of her own when rumors started surfacing that she is seeing Busta.  The rumors started a few months back when Deelishis was reportedly seen with her tongue down Busta’s throat sometime during the BET award weekend. Although nothing has been confirmed…the two seem pretty cozy pictured this weekend at a Miami party for Buffie the Body.

…the new book “Off The Record” by Newsweek reporter Allison Samuels is making waves in Hollywood.  The tell all features quotes and portions of interviews with some of the biggest stars in music, television, film and other areas.  Some of the quotes, – left out of the original interviews because of their possible controversial nature –have been compiled into a tell all that is bound to be a bestseller.

Whitney Houston, one of the stars featured in the book, reportedly referred to Rosie O’Donnell as a fat b*itch after Rosie stated that Whitney had a substance a abuse problem in an interview of her own.  The comment was made several years ago and were stricken from the original interview to help maintain Ms. Houston’s wholesome image which was ulitimately destroyed by Ms. Houston herself…Causing even more of a stir are comments made by our own favorite leading man Denzel …. Allison Samuels reveals in her new book that Washington once turned down a love scene with Julia Roberts out of loyalty to his female African-American fans. Denzel reportedly nixed the steamy segment even though Roberts had insisted that he be cast as her co-star in “The Pelican Brief”. Washington explained: “Black women are not often seen as objects of desire on film. And they have always been my core audience.” The Oscar winner also said he turned down the starring role in “Love Field” with Michelle Pfeiffer because of the N-word. “It was n— this and n— that. I wasn’t going to be but so many n—s in a film.”  All we can say at SdB is: Go ahead on Mr. D…okay this just might make-up for your mid-life crisis!

….Pregnant Mel B is under 24- hour protection from real life Beverly Hills cops after being tormented by obsessive Eddie Murphy fans. The former Spice Girl who was dumped by the comedian last month, is facing daily abuse from a hostile group camped outside her rented Los Angeles home. British news papers are reporting that she spent last weekend back in Britain with her parents but has since returned  to the besieged house. A close pal said: “She is extremely lonely and her life is made intolerable by Eddie’s fans, they shout insults and give her abuse all the time. Police have decided to place an officer outside to keep an eye on things.  All we can say here at SdB is: Sorry Mel… You lay down with celeb’s you wake up wit fleas–some of them will even camp outside your house with camera’s.

Last but not least we at the SdB eZine could not resist this tidbit being reported by the SfGate…Rapper 50 Cent is planning to release his own new line of condoms and sex toys.

The star, who already has a clothing line and a range of energy drinks, is planning to branch out into the lucrative sex market — even creating a vibrator that looks just like him… (umm he might want to rethink that one).

50 tells GQ magazine, “I need to make a 50 Cent condom, and a motorized version of me.

“A motorized version of me will definitely have to be waterproof, so you could utilize it in the tub. A lot of them (vibrators) aren’t waterproof.

“Blue is my favorite color, so it would probably be blue. (Blue!?!? Yeah Blue Black) But I don’t know how big. I don’t know if big is better because I’m not sure a man wants his woman playing with a really big dildo.”But I want to do something like that, to create something that’s popular and exciting sexually for women.”

On TV: The moment that all you flavor of Love fans have been waiting for is finally upon us! The much anticipated spin-off show I love New York starring Tiffany Patterson, premieres tonight on VH1. New York’s mom will help the reality show train wreck choose between several dozen men to find a love match. This should be just as whorish and in need of fumigation as the ever popular Flavor of Love but we’ll be watching and you should too!

On SdB: The the holiday celebrations have come and gone, and all is well on the board.  Members new and old are getting their post on with renewed vigor now that non-posters are being deleted. It seems that members are not real happy about the change but are taking it in stride. Our sources tell us that only one member has vowed never to return. In other news the APB we sent out a few weeks back has been successful, thanks to all who reported sightings. We verified the tips we received and confirmed that it was not our lost member but in fact Big Foot. We at SdB clearly saw the likeliness but quickly realized that although the resemblence was striking our lost member is much shorter. Our resident deadbeat appeared back on the scene a couple of weeks back and has wasted no time annoying the masses. In a not so shocking twist the new member we all suspected was an alter of this lost member promptly disappeared shortly before the deadbeat came back on the scene.  Check it all out here: SdB Forum

Straight from the things we can’t believe people are still doing file…Cocaine/Crack! It seems the irrisistable drug is continuing to rear it’s ugly head and take on new recruits.  Celebs are not immune. Mike Tyson was arrested last week and is reportedly stating he is addicted to cocaine and needs help… Disturbing video of Maia Campbell, Actress and daughter of recently deceased author Bebe Moore Campbell surfaced last week. The actress is filmed putting on a sexually explicit show in exchange for some crack cocaine.  These are just two celebs, (with questionable careers at that), many more have gone down this path as well –most notably Whitney Houston. What is the appeal, the draw…how do you go from cash and bling to ashy lips and burnt fingertips!? Sdb ezine minds want to know.   Mike, Maia, Whitney etc. we want to hear from you, seriously this is your chance to state your case.  If you are a celeb on crack or you know one who is please contact us  at admin@shootingdabreeze.com you can remain anonymous.

As mentioned a few weeks back Monday’s will now feature something new! There are places all over the web touting interesting websites to visit. You can catch where to go on the web here in the eZine or go to SdB’s share your link for even more help and fun spots on the web.   In an effort not to be out done we’re also featurning WHERE NOT TO GO ON THE WEB!!

Todays link: www.michaeljordansmistress.blog  This site doesn’t even need an introduction, the title says it all.  All we can say at SdB eZine is: Even if this is michael Jordan’s ex mistress…even if it is it’s still probably one of THE dumbest blogs we have seen in a while.  (no the link doesn’t work…LOL)

 That’s all yall!

SdB eZine – Friday, January 5, 2007

Posted by breezing on January 5, 2007

What’s Going On?

After a long vacation for the holiday season your friendly neighborhood eZine is back! As we start a new year we can’t help but reflect on the one behind us.

2006 was something to remember there were accomplishments and set-backs, struggle and achievement. Here is a recap of some of those things:

In the CensusLou Rawls, Corretta Scott King, Ed Bradley, Gordon Parks, Octavia Butler, Bebe Moore Campbell, Earl Woods, Rashar HaynesGerald Levert, Ruth Brown , the Wicked Wilson Pickett and the legendary James Brown were just a few of the heroes we lost.

Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant was born to Kobe and Vanessa, musician Seal welcomed Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel and both Angelina Jolie and Madonna stole two black babies.

in Politics…The Iraq war loomed on with our troops still overseas in harms way and Democrats won big at the polls in November but nothing was more exciting then Barack Obama. This chrismatic man appeared out of no where to sweep not just the black Barack Obamacommunity but the entire nation off its feet. America has fallen in love with the intelligent and handsome Senator from Chicago. Already the rumors have started to fly…will there be a black man in the White House in our lifetime?  A year ago many of us would have said NO, but there’s a ram in the bush and that time may come sooner than any of us could have thought…Aaamen.

In humanitarian spiritOprah once again leads our black nation in giving. The talk show host we love to hate has continued to stick it to Uncle Sam and make the rich people’s quota for getting rid of some money for tax purposes. Yes the queen of talk won the crown, by building homes for Katrina victims, giving cars to needy audience members and by opening a $40 million state of the art boarding school for underprivileged girls in South Africa. At the same time Big O also made sure she didn’t leave her friends out…staging the “we’re still not sure what for” Legends Ball where she gifted some of Hollywoods most over indulged rich folks with an afternoon of praise and expensive jewelry.  So all you underprivleged kids who are miffed at O’ stop asking for Ipods and sneakers, get your priorities straight and start asking for diamonds and Prada.

Oprah …In entertainment – The Strides Tyler Perry and Tyra Banks proved that there is life after a sex change…(just kidding) T&T made strides in the area of television and film. Tyler continues to milk Madea for all it’s worth and we’re still loving it. The character he created while homeless and sleeping in his car managed to grace the stage, the movie house and the book aisles, with sales we’re guessing to be somewhere in the hundreds of millions.   Tyra reinvented herself in 2006 proving that she’s more than a pretty big forehead. The model turned, actress, turned musical talent, turned tv-show host continued at the helm of America’s Next Top Model, put out a album and launched a talk-show to rival the big O in the 22-32 year old demographic…Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and Brandy proved that they can hang with the newbies like Beyoncé, Rhianna and Ciara. Janet was all over mags and tv boasting a new album, new abs and her not so new man.  Mary J Blige was every where and managed to top the charts for radio play in 2006, I guess God does care about her bling and her chart status, who knew!?!  Brandy bounced back from a lot of bad decisions AND bad press, she was a judge on tv’s newest reality nightmare America’s Got Talent along with another industry has been on the comeback, proving that she is still cute as a button and one of our Black American sweethearts…come on you know you watched. We’re still trying to FREE CITY but we found Dave Chapelle.  Despite being MIA for a minute and suspected of having a nervous break down…in true African American spirit, he was still able to have a block party.  After dominating in 2005 Jamie Fox  is still riding high and vying with Will Smith to eclipse Denzel as Black America’s leading man.  John Legend and Corrine Bailey Rae both had albums that topped the charts without all the booty clapping hooks…for that we had T.I.

Splits and divorces…It was the end of an era for some of our biggest and most notable couples. Michael Jordan and beloved funny man Eddie Murphy both managed to hit divorce court and deny an out of wedlock kid all in one fell swoop.  Babyface and Tracey Emonds were also among those who called it quits or split in 2006 along with the infamous Whitney and Bobby and Chris and Malaak Rock.

Hook-ups and Hang-ons… In a bizarre musical beds scenario that makes the lyrics Hooollllywwwoood, Hollywood swinging come to mind, Eddie Murphy and Tracey Emonds are now a couple.  Monique married childhood friend Sidney Hicks.  Beyoncé and Jay-Z are still doing their thing despite all the rumors about break-ups and a wedding. Nelly and Ashanti, Janet and Jermaine also were able to stay hooked-up.  Puffy and Kim didn’t make it through the year without mentioning J-Lo let’s hope they do better this year, oh and they’re also still together, we think, maybe, hopefully…I mean we guess that’s what they are doing…right!?!?  And last but not least in the rarely mentioned but honorable section: Toni Braxton  despite becoming a stripper in Vegas managed to hang on to hubby Keri Lewis  at least we think…I mean we haven’t seen them together in years but we think they’re still together.aren’t they!?! Duane and Tisha Martin are also keeping hope alive and we can’t forget Will & Jada. .. representing for a new generation of Black Hollywood.

In Hip-hop…Pretty much nothing changed in the rap world in 2006. Snoop went back to jail, Lil Kim got out of jail,  Proof got murdered and some rapper has a number one song out with R-Kelly (we guess that bad pedophile image thing means nothing when you are making hits). Tupac put out a new album and Jay-Z is coming out of retirement. Brothers and video ho’s are still degrading themselves and selling out their communities for the almighty dollar.  After tip drill and the credit card ass swipe we were all pretty sure it couldn’t get worse, then came a 99 named Baby and his side-kick Lil Wayne…need we say more… come on are you sure… it gets worse…in one of the most backhanded and calculating insults we have been dealt in a while –the thug anthem It’s Hard out Here For A Pimp from the movie Hustle and Flow, was nominated AND performed at the Oscar’s. Which followed by an actual Oscar win! Cristal was boycotted and there just does not seem to be any understanding of the term laughing with us and laughing at us…sing with me…We shall overcome, we shall overcomme one daay, deep in my heart I do believe we shall overcome some day…. and that’s why there’s no links in this section…!!!

In professional sports… Players from both the NFL and NBA managed to make it through the year without one of them being charged with rape.  Shaq won the championship! Barry Bonds clubbed his 715th career home run to move past baseball legend Babe Ruth for second place on the all-time list. Denver Bronco Javon Walker managed to stay alive during a drive-by shooting outside a night club, however cornerback Darrent Williams was not so lucky.  The 24 year old Williams perished and will be on our list as the first to go in 2007.

Well that’s all folks we hope you enjoyed our recap of 2006 and the industry as it was. Of course more things happened in 2006 and we regret we can’t list them all …really we do!!  But don’t fear we’ll be back on Monday with our unique blend of news and muse! in the meantime checkout the eZine archives or the SdB forum there might be something you missed.

That’s all Yall!
